Ghost Towns

The Lake County Historical Museum offers an exciting and informative view of Lake County’s history. Every month, new exhibits are on display and the museum offers a variety of programs for the community’s enjoyment.

The museum is located on the first floor of the Lake County Historic Courthouse, located at 317 W. Main St., Tavares. The museum is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. View our map with driving directions.

November 7, 1987
The Lake County Centennial Celebration concluded with a salute to all Lake County veterans. The ceremony took place at the World War I monument in Summerall Park, Tavares.
